You can now have up to three bomb drops or three rocket firings rather than one.

Bombs in the drop tank slot will drop down, not fly back like a drop tank and drop tanks have some destructive power now, not a lot, but enough to destroy some of the weaker targets.

Here are the details:

1 - The new data files are named weapals.dat (allies) and weapaxs.dat (axis).
2 - There are string files named weapals.str and weapaxs.str files to go along with them so that the ordinance names show up properly on the arming board.
3 - The radiotxt.str file was modified to show LO-1 instead of Bomb, LO-2 instead of Rocket and LO-3 instead of Drop Tank.
4 - There are 2 new sound files to replace the bomb and rocket sounds. They were not compatible with the weapons in the new slots.
5 - There are some new ordinance files - A) ORD03.3dz for the incendiaries'
                                         B) ORD34.3dz for the 2000lb bomb
                                         C) ORD37.3dz for the Hs-293
                                         D) ORD36.3dz for the Okha (Charles Gunst's)
                                         E) Ord88/3sz for the parafrag bombs
                                         F) New generic ordinance release sounds SND0009.SND and SND0029.SND
6 - There are three .LDR files(weapals.ldr, weapaxs.ldr and weapons.ldr) to change the exe, depending on which side you will be playing for and to return the game to its' original state. They work with VB's VBHexy program. Only use these .LDR files with exe version 1.26e. If you want to use the mod with other exe versions, e-mail me and I will make the appropriate ldr's.
7 - There are two text files, weapals.txt and weapaxs.txt included. These are to assist in using Mr. Jelly's loadout editor. (necessary for the setup of the new weapons.)

Installation:
1 - Unzip all files into the EAW folder. The procedure is different for using to mod with OAW. you will need to get help elsewhere on this issue.
2 - Make a short cut on the desktop for the VBHexy program and the .exe file. To activate the mod first start the VBHexy program and when prompted, load the .LDR script for the side you wish to play. The exe will be patched until you reactiavte the VBHexy program and change sides or return the game to unpatched condition.
3 - Before starting the game you must edit the loadout options for all of the planes. The mod will not work properly if you skip this step since many weapons are in new slots in the modified .dat files.

4 - To edit the loadouts will need to use the Loadout editor provided by Mr. Jelly. This program reads a text file in the EAW folder named weapons.txt to display a selection of weapon names in a drop down menu. Before starting the loadout editor rename the original weapons.txt to weaponsorg.txt, then rename either weapals.txt or weapaxs.txt to weapons.txt and the weapon names will be displayed properly in the drop down menu.

NOTE: Whenever you wish to use the loadout editor make sure the correct file has been renamed to weapons.txt or the display in the drop down window will be wrong. It won't crash but the names of the various ordinances will be wrong.

The bombs are in identical slots and most of the rockets too so that the oposing side will be carrying close to the correct ordinance. The Allies have more drop tank options and the axis have heavy rocket weapons. Here is the weapons list:

NOTE:

There are a couple of limitations:
1 - You should release the ordinance defined by the drop tank key first. For some reason, if you release the ordinance on the bomb or rocket key first the drop tank ordinance will release with it. Of course there may be times when you want to release more than one at a time, in that case just arm the appropriate ordinance and fire as usual.

2 - The rest of the members of your squadron never got the notice of these changes so they will still drop tanks when going into combat even if the ordinance is a bomb or rocket. Hint, if you are leading the squadron and there are rockets on LO-3 get the hell out of the way when making contact with the enemy because all your mates will be firing their rockets instead of dropping tanks and occasionally you may take one in the rear! It adds to the pucker factor as you engage the enemy.

3 - If you define a loadout of drop tanks for an Allied plane in the loadout editor (other that the 45 gal tank), they will show up as one of the heavy rockets when you play for the Axis side.
If you define a loadout of R4M rockets for an axis plane, it will show up as 60lb rockets when you play for the allied side.
So far, it has not been problem during game play.
